NAPPYHEAD FUNK ARMY

At Da Funky Phish - Bay Shore, NY (Long Island) (11/14/03)

Let me say this: THIS WAS A VERY SPECIAL SHOW FOR THE NAPPYHEAD FUNK ARMY.....BECAUSE THEY WERE PERFORMING AT THEIR OLD HOME, DA FUNKY PHISH!!! Business matters were worked out between the group and the club owner.....so now the NAPPYHEAD FUNK ARMY is back at Da Funky Phish!! Upon my arrival at the club, I noticed that it was totally packed.......EVERYBODY came to witness a historical event! Yours truly walked into the club and all eyes were on me, 'cuz I was dressed totally pimpalicious (red velvet cape & hat, black pants & shirt, red snakeskin shoes and red belt)!! Yours truly walked with some blinking star rings, star body lights & whistle-pacifiers to sell to the funkateers!

At 12:05am, the Nappyhead Funk Army started with the "Funk Army Mash", featuringthe funkified keyboard riffs of Pearl (Prez couldn't make it). "Cosmic Slop", "Funk Infection 2003", "Fly on the Wall" and "Tear the Roof Off the Sucka" were followed by "Maggot Brain", with some lead guitar madness by Andy Lassalle! "Atomic Dog" was funky, but "Funkemiftheycan'ttakeajoke" was better with some poppin' funk bass chords by #9, some heavenly keyboard riffs and funky rhythm guitarisms by Groovalicious! "Red Hot Momma" was a rock fan's delight, with Groovalicious doing the lead vocals....actually, the vocals were low at some points in the song. "Cholly" was a nice addition to the NHFA set, with Cameo's "Single Life" and "Candy" to follow. THE FANS WERE LOVING ALL OF THE FUNKY SELECTIONS!!! "Could You Be Loved?" and "Stand Up, Get Up" transported the fans into the land of Jamaica (and NOT Jamaica, Queens)!

"Play That Funky Music, White Boy" was a red-hot funk favorite among the fans and a bunch of girls began to dance on the bar!! The rhyme from "Let's Take It to The Stage" was followed by "Up For the Down Stroke", featuring scratch guitarisms of Groovalicious! Fearless leader #9 also threw in the chorus of "Let's Take It to The Stage".......the correct lyrics are "Sitting in the woods upon a log / finger on the trigger, my eyes on a hog / and I sat back....laughin' at ya!" "P-Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)" featured some good wah-wah guitar riffs by Groovalicious! "God" was an extremely funk feast with the funkiest, foot-stompin' bass riffs by Gary Bordies and great lead vocals by the sexy Angela Workman!! A few more songs and the show was over at 3:00am.
