At
11:15pm, funky-soul master group Sonny Boy (led by the very talented Sheldon
Riser) started their set with some hard-hitting funky soul of "It Don't
Matter", complete with synthesized horns by Mark, some high-energy guitar
riffing by Jason Minice and good drumming by Jason! The funky soul continued
into the next song, "Josephine Brown", featuring heavy synthesizer
riffs by Mark, a great lead guitar solo by Sheldon himself, and some jazz
arrangement during the middle of the song (the breakdown). The next song
featured some baritone sax (synthesized sax, of course). The following song
(which I cannot recall the name of) started out pretty mellow and featured some
pretty odd (almost haunting) synthesizer riffing. The last song, "Hell
No!!!" was da bomb with a super-heavy bassline by Larry (thanks, Larry!)
and some all-out jamming by the rest of the band. Unfortunately, the fun had to
come to an end at 11:45pm.
GO N SUPPORT SONNY
