MY TESTIMONY

1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

Proverbs 3: 7 - 8

Do not be wise in your eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.  This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Psalms 103: 2 - 3

Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits--who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.

These are some of the powerful scriptures that I studied during my latest trial.

Sunday, August 10, 2008

I was sitting towards the back of the sanctuary (at my church) crying, feeling that I wasnât worthy of His grace.  A fellow Christian in the church picked up on that and began to pray with me.  It was revealed that the Lord wanted me to go back to when I was first saved...when I had that fire for Him.  He wanted me to make more time for prayer.

Tuesday, August 12th

I started having severe heartburn and some chest pains, even after just taking Nexium for controlling acid reflux.   I contacted my doctor later and she suggested that I take the Nexium twice a day, instead of once a day.

I did that and began feeling sick, my skin was tingling, my left eyelid began to feel heavy, and I had this considerable tension in the back of my neck.  I got very little sleep during that week, staying up late praying to the Lord that I would feel better.

That Friday, I began to feel lightheaded, weak, fatigued, as I left my job.  I spoke to Deacon Tony Pearson & The Pastor concerning my situation and they began to pray for me.  I thought I was dying!

Sunday, August 17th

I went to the ER at Hahnemann Univ. Hospital--the medical staff checked my heart and did a blood test...they discovered that I have anemia.

Monday, August 18th

I went to my doctor, who suggested that I needed have a upper GI endoscopy (along with a colonoscopy), because of the reflux pain and some GI bleeding...and strongly suggested that I have a cardiac stress test performed, just to make sure that my heart was normal.

Then The Lord revealed something to me, concerning the tension in my neck...I was elevating my head while sleeping because of the worsening of my acid reflux, but my head was in a vertical position with 2 flat pillows touching the wall...creating tension in my neck.  Now, I'm laying at a 45-degree angle using some thick pillows to elevate my head.

I kept praying to the Lord that I would have the endoscopic procedures earlier than Sept. 8th...the Lord blessed me with an earlier date, Wed. August 27th

Wednesday, August 27th

I had the colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy.

I prayed that there would be no cancer, maybe just a small ulcer or something minor.

The results were:

*     NO colon cancer

*     NO colon polyps

*     NO stomach cancer

*     NO problems with the esophagus

*     NO ulcers

Friday, September 5th

I had the cardiac stress test done.

I prayed to The Lord that the results would be favorable.

The result:

The stress test showed that I have a normal heart.

Friday, September 12th

I had a second blood test, done by my doctor.

The result:

All the blood test results (iron level, B-12 level, red blood cell count, etc.) were normal, except for a slight elevation in 1 of the liver tests, but it's nothing to concerned about right now.

Monday, September 29th

I had a video capsule endoscopy performed to locate the bleeding in the small intestine.  I'm been praying that the Lord would begin to heal my body, since almost Day 1.

The result:

There is currently no bleeding in the small intestine...wherever the source of bleeding was located, it vanished!!

Thursday, October 2nd

I wore a Holter monitor for 24 hours to screen my heart for palpitations (which I have off and on).

Currently, I'm waiting for the results on that.

But through it all, THE LORD IS BLESSING ME, but I want to mention 2 more things:

  1. I recognized that this trial was given to me to:

    • As a wake-up call to all the things that I was doing that went against God's will for my life....the wake-up call started with what happened in the church on Sunday, August 10th.

    • To build my faith in God.

  2. In the beginning of the trial, I spent a lot of reciting WHAT I CALL "CRYING OUT" SCRIPTURES--stuff like:

Psalm 55:1-2

Listen to my prayer, O God -- do not ignore my plea; Hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught

Psalm 64:1

Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint.  Protect my life from the threat of the enemy.

But then, I thought about it...the Lord has already given me the Victory, so there is no need to cry out!  All I have to do is walk in it.

THE LORD HAS ALREADY GIVEN YOU THE VICTORY--ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WALK IN IT!

I  BEGAN TO RECITE "SCRIPTURES OF STRENGTH":

Psalm 13:5 - 6

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.  I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me.

Psalm 54:7

For He has delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

ALWAYS REMEMBER...JESUS IS ON THE MAIN LINE!!!  CALL HIM UP & TELL HIM WHAT YOU WANT!

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO NON-BELIEVERS

John 3:16-17 says that "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him".

Jesus Christ has paid the price for ALL our sins (every one of us) by surrendering  his life on the Cross....because of that, ALL OF US have the privilege of going to Heaven.

The question is:  Do you want to go to heaven when you die?  The Bible mentions that the wages of sin is [eternal] death....if you were to die right now, without confessing your sins and accepting Christ as your personal savior, you are going to spend eternity in Hell....

The Bible says there are 4 things a person must do to go to heaven:

1. REALIZE YOU ARE A SINNER. The Bible says "All have sinned, all fall short of God's glorious standard" (Romans 2:23 NLT)

2. RECOGNIZE JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS FOR YOU. The Bible tells us that "God showed his great love for us
by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners". (Romans 5:8 NLT)

3. REPENT OF YOUR SIN. The Bible says, "Now turn from your sins and turn to God, so you can be cleansed of your sins". (Acts 3:19 NLT)

4. RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST INTO YOUR LIFE. The Bible tells us, "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved". (Romans 10:13 NLT)

WILL YOU STEP FORWARD AND RECEIVE CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR?

IF SO, YOU ARE MAKING THE BEST DECISION IN YOUR LIFE.

IF NOT, PLEASE RECONSIDER.....REMEMBER:  TOMORROW IS NOT GUARANTEED!
